Generic Name: magnesium hydroxide (mag-NEE-zee-um) Brand Name: Phillips' Milk of Magnesia.

It works by neutralizing the acid in the stomach and by stimulating the bowels to move. Magnesium hydroxide chewable tablets is an antacid.

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); loss of appetite; muscle weakness; nausea; slow reflexes; vomiting.

Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted.

PEDIA-LAX CHEWABLE TABLETS (Magnesium hydroxide) drug information & product resources from MPR including dosage information, educational materials.

Laxative (saline). Results usually within 30 minutes to 6 hours; reevaluate if ineffective. <2yrs: not recommended. 6–11yrs: 3–6 tabs daily. 2–5yrs: 1–3 tabs daily. Both: may be given as a single dose or in divided doses. Drink 8oz of liquid with each dose.

Renal disease. Discontinue if rectal bleeding or no bowel movement occurs. Magnesium-restricted diet. Tabs—30.

Company: Fleet, C.B., Company Occasional constipation.
