Android seems to be a word that more and more people are hearing when they are considering the latest high tech device to have as their own. Android, though many believe this a type of phone, they are far from the real reason for the development of this. It is through this system that people are able to get applications for their phones and so forth. Android is an operating system, just as other cell phones and computers have operating systems, such as Apple having their own operating system. However, there are those that are not as tech savvy as the rest and are still not really familiar with what Android is.

Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and and tablet computers, with specialized user interfaces for evisions (Android TV),. to the homescreen, the primary navigation and information point on the device.

Android used to require an autofocus camera, which was relaxed to a fixed-focus camera if it is even present at all, since the camera was dropped as a requirement entirely when Android started to be used on set-top boxes. For example, as Android was developed initially as a phone OS, hardware such as microphones were required, while over time the phone function became optional. Some hardware components are not required, but became standard in certain classes of devices, such as smartphones, and additional requirements apply if they are present.
