With well over 100 tablets of all shapes, sizes, purposes, and operating systems, CES 2012 was more tablet-oriented than even TabTimes.

The release date: Q2 2012. This new iteration keeps the Tegra 3 and overall platform intact, but upgrades the display to an impressive-looking, first-of-its-class 1920 x 1200 pixels. The dockable, speedy Transformer Prime made critics smile. The price of the Tf700T is $599 for the 32GB version, and $699 for the 64GB version. It will run Android 4.0.

At 1.2 pounds in weight, it’s also the lightest. And it somehow manages to keep its SD slot. The Excite X10 has a 1280 x 800 10-inch IPS display, a 1.2GHz OMAP 4430 CPU, and will run Android 3.2, with an Ice Cream Sandwich update coming shortly after its release at the end of this month.
