In clinical trials in patients with hypertension treated with PRINIVIL, discontinuation of therapy due to clinical adverse experiences occurred in 5.7 percent of patients. The overall frequency of adverse experiences could not be related to total daily dosage within the recommended therapeutic dosage range.

Lisinopril can cause side effects in some patients. DrEd provides information about the common and rare side effects of this high blood pressure treatment.

While most Lisinopril side effects are harmless, you should be aware of serious side effects, which can indicate an allergic reaction. If you experience any side effects, you should speak to your doctor. The most common side effect is a persistent cough. It causes side effects in some patients.
